Class structures
Juniors
Tambelin junior students is taught co-operatively by two experienced teachers. Michelle teaches on Monday and Tuesday, Catherine Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Classes are complemented by the additional support of Nat, our teachers assistant, who works four days a week from 9:30 - 1:30pm. Catherine and Michelle work closely together to give a comprehensive and balanced program covering all curriculum areas.
Seniors
Tambelin senior students are taught full time by Melanie. Melanie and the senior class enjoy the support of teacher's assistant Sharon. Both work enthusiastically to deliver the content of all key learning areas using a variety of group structures and learning activities to cater for a variety of different learning styles and levels in the dynamic classroom.
Mixing it up
Tambelin also combines classes for some activities which provides “big buddy” opportunities for the younger children. An example of combined class activity is “Pirate Day”. This whole of school activity co-ordinated by Senior teacher Melanie involved pirate themed dress up, learning activities and socialisation between all students - an exciting learning experience.
Tambelin students on the whole are excellent peer tutors. They have a wonderful respect and admiration for each other, regardless of age. Senior students are very supportive and caring towards their younger peers in the junior classes.
